Tips for That Summer Glow

Hello everybody!

A not long ago I've discovered ALOHA- a place where you can say hello to healthy happiness, so I wanted to share some of my advices for achieving a perfect Summer glow. I've thought of three tips for a healthy, glowing and summer-ready skin. And since two of the three tips include fruits and spices, I checked their recipe page for an inspiration. I then decided to make a banana smoothie with cinnamon (my all time favourite) and lemon water with mint (we grow mint on our garden and it smells so good). I chose those two recipes, as they’re so simple and they take you less than five minutes to make, which is great if you don’t have much time because of school or something.

Tip 1: Banana smoothie with cinnamon

The ingredients you need to make smoothie (two servings): two bananas, 2 ½ glasses of milk, cinnamon.

First, you have to put sliced bananas and milk in a blender and after you blend them together, just pour the smoothie in glasses. Then add a bit of cinnamon and you’re done! I always add way too much cinnamon, but I just love it, since it’s great for the skin. You can also use cinnamon as body wash, scrub or face mask.

Tip 2: Lemon water with mint

The ingredients you need to make lemon water (about six servings): 1 ½ lemon, one litre of water, a few mint leaves.

It’s really important to drink enough water in the summer, but lemon water is as great as water. And you can add a few mint leaves to make lemon water even more refreshing. You can also use mint for your skin and it will look a lot fresher.

Tip 3: Smile

My last tip might sound cliché, but it always works. So if you want to really achieve that perfect Summer glow, smile. Smile all the time. When you watch a movie, when you’re getting ready, when you’re walking to the shop, when you’re with your friends. Just smile. You’ll feel confident, happy and comfortable in your own body and that will effect on your skin.

Here are my three tips for that perfect Summer glow.  I’d love to know some of your tips, so don’t forget to write them in the comments.

Trip to Gardaland

Saturday, May 16, 2015 Sara Wallflower 15 Comments

Hello everybody!

On May 9th we went on a school trip to Gardaland, an amusement park located in Italy. We gathered at 4 a.m., then drove for around 6 hours and finally arrived. The weather was amazing and my friend and I couldn’t wait to visit as many attractions as we can.
That was my 3rd time visiting Gardaland, I was there with my family when I was about 11 and 12 years old, but I was actually too short to go on mostly all the attractions so I was quite excited this time.

My friend and I went on Blue Tornado, Mammut (twice), Jungle Rapids, Fuga da Atlantide, 4D Adventure, Magic Mountain (twice), Colorado Boat, Raptor, Kaffeetassen.

We had so much fun running from attraction to attraction and my favourite ones were definitely the ones including water. We had to wait for quite some time in lines before going on the rides, so we had plenty of time to talk about different things, take some photos, eat probably way too many chocolate and just enjoy the atmosphere. Decision to eat so many candies wasn’t really a great idea, since we went on so many roller coasters, but it all ended well. We also went to 4D Adventure for kids (we were quite terrible at reading map, because we wanted to go to a regular 4D Adventure), so we had to watch Ice Age, but I hadn’t laughed like that for a long time. We were also terrified before every ride, but we still wanted to go on as many adrenaline rides as possible. I bought one photo and one video of us screaming and we just looked like we were frightened to death. In the end we also decided to go on Kaffeetassen, just to calm a bit and it was great.

After that we headed to our bus and I also managed to take some photos while walking towards the exit. I really had an amazing time in Gardaland, even though I was there three times already, I’d go there tomorrow if someone invited me. And since I hadn’t had enough time to visit all of the attractions, I sure will come back soon!

Where Words Fail, Music Speaks

Sunday, May 10, 2015 Sara Wallflower 14 Comments

Hello everybody!

I found this quote on Tumblr- Where words fail, music speaks. It made me think about music, how I feel when I listen to my favourite artists, my favourite songs. I feel infinite. I decided to make a playlist of my favourite songs at the moment. So when I’ll look back in six months, a year, five years, I’ll know which songs made me infinite in the past.

The list of songs:

Alle Farben- She Moves
Arctic Monkeys- Suck It And See
Calvin Harries & Alesso- Under Control ft. Hurts; Summer
Cloud Atlas (Soundtrack) - M38 ‘Outro’
Dotan- Home
Echosmith- Cool Kids
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros- Home
Eminem- My Dad’s Gone Crazy, Rap God
Fences- Arrows ft. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Foals- My Number
HAIM- Don’t Save Me, Falling
Hurts- Stay, Sunday, Wonderful Life
Kodaline- All I Want, Big Bad World, High Hopes, Talk
Lana Del Rey- Radio, Dark Paradise
Lennon & Maisy Stella- Boom Clap
Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz- Prayer in C
Lilly Allen- Air Balloon, Chinese, URL Badman
Linkin Park- Castle Of Glass
Lost Frequencies- Are You With Me
Milky Chance- Flashed Junk Mind
Of Monsters and Men- Little Talks, Six Weeks
Passion Pit- Carried Away
Sander van Doorn, Martin Garrix, DVBBS- Gold Skies ft. Aleesia
Sky Ferreira- Lost In My Bedroom
Take That- These Days
The Lumineers- Ho Hey, Big Parade
The Neighbourhood- Sweater Weather
The Smiths- Ask, Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
Tove Lo- Habits, Moments, Thousand Miles, Timebomb
Vance Joy- Riptide
Years & Years- Desire, Take Shelter, Real, Traps

There is a light that never goes out is probably my favourite song at the moment. Melody, lyrics, Morrissey’s voice- everything is perfect!

I know that some of you will find this post boring, but it sure means a lot to me and it’s probably one of my favourite I’ve ever written.

Collistar Products Review

Friday, May 01, 2015 Sara Wallflower 14 Comments

Hello everybody!

Back in January a lovely blogger Agnes Krown hosted a giveaway since it was her birthday. I usually don’t enter giveaways just because I’m too lazy to fill in all the information. But since Agnes is from Slovenia (so am I), I thought it would be great to support a fellow Slovenian blogger. And I actually won in the giveaway! I still remember how I read an email from Agnes at 5 a.m. and I shouted to my mother that I won (she was sleeping at that time, so I woke her up, that’s how excited I was).

I then received a package of three Collistar products- compact powder, pencil for smokey eyes and eye shadow. In the next few days some people on Ask.fm asked me to write a review about these products and I was planning to write it ever since then.

But I’m neither good at writing reviews nor I enjoy writing them in particularly. This mostly applies to writing reviews about any beauty products, just because most of the time I don’t even wear any makeup. So I felt like I shouldn’t be reviewing any beauty products when there are so many bloggers who enjoy buying, applying different products and experimenting with them.

However, I decided to present you Collistar products from my point of view, because I can say that in recent months I have learned a few things about makeup.

Silk Effect Eye Shadow

At the time I got this eyeshadow I was actually looking for any shade of brown eyeshadow since I was only using pink and purple ones (I’m so boring and predictable, I know!). So when I opened a package this is probably the product I was most excited to try on. This eyeshadow comes in a shade 45 Cacao. It’s a bit vibrant and I had to step out of my comfort zone to wear it, but it’s so easy to combine with other shades of eyeshadows and I just love it. It’s also incredibly silky and blends effortlessly, which is perfect for me. I can say that this Collistar’s Eye Shadow is probably one of my favourite eyeshadows.

Compact Powder Extra Light

I never wear powder- not because I’d have a perfect skin, but because I don’t feel comfortable wearing it. And if any makeup makes me feel uncomfortable I don’t wear it- simple as that. But I decided to give this powder a try, just because I can’t write a review about a product I don’t even try. After the first impressions I must say that I am impressed. It’s great that I got an extra light powder, as I’m quite pale and this one comes in a shade 2 Ambra. It really covers acne and other irregularities. I’m not exactly an expert when it comes to powders, but this one is the best one I’ve ever tried.

Smoky Eyes Professional Pencil

I’m the worst at doing smokey eyes- I’ve tried many times and I’ve completely failed. So I’ve tried this pencil, but let’s just say I didn’t get a result I was aiming for (but I won’t give up, I’ll have to succeed one day, right?). This pencil comes in a shade 302 Marrone and it goes really nicely with my eye colour. It gives an intense colour and it’s perfect for a night out. You can also use it as a classic kohl pencil, which is probably how I’m going to use it.

In overall I’m quite pleased with all three products- they made me experiment a bit, which is quite an accomplishment for me! I’m also planning to buy Collistar’s lip gloss, their shades are just stunning. I’m extremely thankful to Agnes who hosted this amazing giveaway, so if you like beauty, fashion and anything in between you should definitely check her blog here!
