June Favourites 2015

Hello everybody!

I haven’t written a favourites post since March. Last three months were filled with tests, homework and other school work and I just couldn’t find time to sit down and pick some of my favourite things at the time. But here are my favourite beauty and non- beauty products I’ve been loving through June.

Essence Colour & Go: Be My Lucky Star

Another Essence's nail polish added to my favourites list. I’m wearing it at the moment and I just love it. It comes in a shade Be my lucky star, it’s with sparkle sand effect and I applied it in two coats.

Garnier Ultra DOUX: Protective Conditioner

I’ve already mentioned this conditioner once or even twice, but I’m obsessed with it. It smells absolutely divine and it makes my hair really soft and silky. I’ve been using it for almost a year now and I sure will continue to use it.

Swatch: Watch

I got this watch two years ago when I finished primary school and I didn’t often use it back then. But I’ve started to use it again a few months ago and I really like it, the colours are perfect for the summer.

Six: Sunglasses Case

I bought this sunglasses case a month ago and I’m obsessed with it. It’s quite big so beside my sunglasses I can also use it for lipstick, rubber bands... It’s also really colourful, which is great for summer (I think I’m getting obsessed with colours again).

Sophie Kinsella: The Wedding Girl

I’ve just started to read this book and I haven’t finished it yet, but it’s the first book I’ve read in months. But since the school has just finished I’ve decided to read as much books as I can during the summer. The wedding girl is easy to read and it’s quite interesting at the same time, so I can’t wait to finish it.

What products have you loved using in June and would recommend buying/ trying them? Also, if you have any book suggestions you can write them in the comments, I would love to read some new books!

What I Like About Myself

Hello everybody!

A month or so ago I decided to make a post about self- love, since more and more teenagers underestimate themselves, even though they really shouldn’t. I asked my followers on Ask.fm: What do you like about yourself and why? Their task was to write anything that came to their minds. I actually couldn’t believe such young girls have such great thinking. I chose some of the answers that have really touched me.

Andrea, 14 years old

I was asked to think about what I like most about myself, well, the thing I like most about myself is my personality. Why? Because I know that I make lots of people happy with my sparkling personality, I've been told that I'm really nice and non-judgemental and I think that's really important. :) I'm also a bit (or a lot) sarcastic sometimes but I don't think that ruins it, I think that just makes me me. There are other things I like about myself like my eyes, hair, lips and eyebrows but my personality is the thing I like the most. I think it's important to accept yourself because you're the only one whose opinion matters. Although, a lot of teenagers feel insecure about their bodies and their sexualities and races, etc., it is important to remind them they are beautiful and special and one of a kind! :)

Tjaša, 13 years old

My name is TjaÅ¡a and I’m 13 years old. The thing I like the most about myself is that I look at the world through different eyes than most of my peers and I’m also more mature than they are. I’m trying to gain so much self- confidence that I would dare to wear different pieces of clothes, which at the moment are hidden in my closet- and every time I do a step closer to my goal, I’m proud of myself. Already confessing that to myself means a lot to me and I appreciate that about myself. What I also like about myself is that I’m unemotional. I don’t get hurt easily and it’s hard for me to get attached to someone, but I take this as an advantage, because that way I can avoid disappointments and I can choose people I need in my life. I’m proud of myself every time I do something good for myself or for others, when I grow spiritually. About my appearance- I like my teeth, my smile and my hair. I'm working on realisation that every man is the architect of his own future and that the only thing that holds us back is ourselves. I love people who dare to admit on what they are proud of themselves.

Lea, 14 years old

I really like my hair and my positivity. I’m a happy person and for the past 2 months I’ve been trying to share my positivity because I want people to be happy.  And I think my character is quite okay. People can always relay on me as I’m always glad to help. I always make jokes and I like that. And I really like my music taste. I also like how I can’t fall in love easily and that I haven’t been in love for over a year. About my appearance I like my hair, eyebrows, eyes and the birthmark I have on my nose. For the past few months I’ve been trying not to care about what other people think about me and I’m trying to accept as many things as I can about myself. I use sarcasm quite a lot and I like it. I think it’s awesome that I don’t use makeup a lot and try to be as natural as I can be and that I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not just for people to like me.

Nika, 15 years old

I like that I’m really sociable, I like going out with my friends. I also like that I’m really good at playing football and handball, I’m also going to handball trainings. About my appearance I like my hair, which is in my opinion too short at the moment, but I still love it.

When I asked those girls to answer what they like about themselves it seemed like a simple task. I mean it wasn’t supposed to be that hard to find some positive things about out appearance or personality, right? But then I decided to think of a few things I like about myself. And I realised it’s not as simple as I’ve thought. After a while this is what I came up with:

Sara, 17 years old

When I decide to do something, there is nothing that can stop me and that’s one of the things I like about myself. I’ve learned to stop caring about other people’s opinions, because people who don’t know me, can’t say what I can and what I can’t do. Many people then think I’m heartless and say I can’t accept criticism, but that’s not true- I always appreciate my friends’ advices. What I also like about myself is that I’m always willing to help- even though there are sometimes moments I feel so empty and I just want to sleep all day, I would still jump out of bed if someone asked me for help. And now, what I like about my appearance are my lips. Sometimes people make fun out of them, because they are quite full, but for some reason I really like them and nobody can change that. Because of not caring about what other people think of me, I have learned to accept myself and I’m slowly starting to like more and more things about myself.

I’ve really enjoyed writing this post and finding out what some girls of my age like about themselves. It’s important to sometimes think about ourselves, our likes and dislikes, our flaws and advantages. Because if we don’t accept ourselves, who else will?

Tips for That Summer Glow

Hello everybody!

A not long ago I've discovered ALOHA- a place where you can say hello to healthy happiness, so I wanted to share some of my advices for achieving a perfect Summer glow. I've thought of three tips for a healthy, glowing and summer-ready skin. And since two of the three tips include fruits and spices, I checked their recipe page for an inspiration. I then decided to make a banana smoothie with cinnamon (my all time favourite) and lemon water with mint (we grow mint on our garden and it smells so good). I chose those two recipes, as they’re so simple and they take you less than five minutes to make, which is great if you don’t have much time because of school or something.

Tip 1: Banana smoothie with cinnamon

The ingredients you need to make smoothie (two servings): two bananas, 2 ½ glasses of milk, cinnamon.

First, you have to put sliced bananas and milk in a blender and after you blend them together, just pour the smoothie in glasses. Then add a bit of cinnamon and you’re done! I always add way too much cinnamon, but I just love it, since it’s great for the skin. You can also use cinnamon as body wash, scrub or face mask.

Tip 2: Lemon water with mint

The ingredients you need to make lemon water (about six servings): 1 ½ lemon, one litre of water, a few mint leaves.

It’s really important to drink enough water in the summer, but lemon water is as great as water. And you can add a few mint leaves to make lemon water even more refreshing. You can also use mint for your skin and it will look a lot fresher.

Tip 3: Smile

My last tip might sound cliché, but it always works. So if you want to really achieve that perfect Summer glow, smile. Smile all the time. When you watch a movie, when you’re getting ready, when you’re walking to the shop, when you’re with your friends. Just smile. You’ll feel confident, happy and comfortable in your own body and that will effect on your skin.

Here are my three tips for that perfect Summer glow.  I’d love to know some of your tips, so don’t forget to write them in the comments.

Trip to Gardaland

Hello everybody!

On May 9th we went on a school trip to Gardaland, an amusement park located in Italy. We gathered at 4 a.m., then drove for around 6 hours and finally arrived. The weather was amazing and my friend and I couldn’t wait to visit as many attractions as we can.
That was my 3rd time visiting Gardaland, I was there with my family when I was about 11 and 12 years old, but I was actually too short to go on mostly all the attractions so I was quite excited this time.

My friend and I went on Blue Tornado, Mammut (twice), Jungle Rapids, Fuga da Atlantide, 4D Adventure, Magic Mountain (twice), Colorado Boat, Raptor, Kaffeetassen.

We had so much fun running from attraction to attraction and my favourite ones were definitely the ones including water. We had to wait for quite some time in lines before going on the rides, so we had plenty of time to talk about different things, take some photos, eat probably way too many chocolate and just enjoy the atmosphere. Decision to eat so many candies wasn’t really a great idea, since we went on so many roller coasters, but it all ended well. We also went to 4D Adventure for kids (we were quite terrible at reading map, because we wanted to go to a regular 4D Adventure), so we had to watch Ice Age, but I hadn’t laughed like that for a long time. We were also terrified before every ride, but we still wanted to go on as many adrenaline rides as possible. I bought one photo and one video of us screaming and we just looked like we were frightened to death. In the end we also decided to go on Kaffeetassen, just to calm a bit and it was great.

After that we headed to our bus and I also managed to take some photos while walking towards the exit. I really had an amazing time in Gardaland, even though I was there three times already, I’d go there tomorrow if someone invited me. And since I hadn’t had enough time to visit all of the attractions, I sure will come back soon!

Where Words Fail, Music Speaks

Hello everybody!

I found this quote on Tumblr- Where words fail, music speaks. It made me think about music, how I feel when I listen to my favourite artists, my favourite songs. I feel infinite. I decided to make a playlist of my favourite songs at the moment. So when I’ll look back in six months, a year, five years, I’ll know which songs made me infinite in the past.

The list of songs:

Alle Farben- She Moves
Arctic Monkeys- Suck It And See
Calvin Harries & Alesso- Under Control ft. Hurts; Summer
Cloud Atlas (Soundtrack) - M38 ‘Outro’

There is a light that never goes out is probably my favourite song at the moment. Melody, lyrics, Morrissey’s voice- everything is perfect!
